Federal home energy programs in Iowa: status and dates
Iowa Home Energy Rebate Programs (HOMES and HEEHRA) via Iowa Economic Development Authority
federal rebate (state-run)
Status: status not confirmed; the state's page is out of date
IEDA's Residential Energy Efficiency Programs page says Iowa expects funding for HOMES (over $60 million; rebates of $2,000 to $8,000 for individual households and up to $400,000 for multifamily buildings) and HEEHRA (about $60 million; cap of $14,000), and that the rebates are 'not yet available'. Its status section still refers to DOE guidelines of July 27, 2023 and says households can generally expect access 'by mid-2025', so it does not describe the current status. It links a sign-up for updates.
Not confirmed or worth knowing: The page does not mention DOE's 2026 program changes, and we found no more recent official Iowa statement.
