Federal home energy programs in Kentucky: status and dates

Kentucky Home Energy Rebates Program (HOMES/HER and HEEHR/HEAR) via Office of Energy Policy

federal rebate (state-run)

Status: not launched; awaiting DOE approval

Dates: No launch date

The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet's Office of Energy Policy says the program is not yet accepting rebate applications and rebates are not available. Kentucky must complete additional documents and receive approval from DOE before launch; its progress tracker marks step 2 (application and plan submission) as the current step. The FAQ says DOE allocated $134 million (split between HOMES/HER and HEAR), that Kentucky cannot launch until DOE gives unconditional approval and makes federal funding available, that Kentucky selected the modeled pathway, and that the federal spending deadline is Sept 30, 2031. Final rebate amounts have not been set.
